Board of Management Section

The Board of Management kicked off the new year with the January Team Reports! Apart from allowing us to mingle with the Working Community, they also make us feel more connected and help us grow and develop even more. There are some more exciting things that are ahead – first being the January E-voting where we are eager to hear the opinions of our Member Organisations and Representatives. We are also very excited for our second Board of Management Meeting that will take place in Budapest next month. One of the most exciting things for us and for the mandate to come is the election of the new Board of Management. If you are ready to make the best decision of your life and want to challenge yourself both personally and professionally, feel free to reach out to the Board Member which currently holds the position for any question you might have!

Journal of European Psychology Students (JEPS)

The last quarter has been an exciting and challenging period for JEPS. Last September, JEPS cancelled the contract with the old publisher, Ubiquity Press – and now it is fully and officially published by EFPSA! This meant more liberty and flexibility in publishing, but also much work on designing the new layout of our articles and dealing with technical terms such as XML, metadata markup and indexing, but we made it happen, and are now are working full-force to publish a bigger issue with a Letter from Editors in February!

We also published a bunch of articles: one about the language police officers use in interrogation, one about a network-based tool for organising a literature review, and a literature review about a video-game therapy for amblyiopia (“lazy-eye” disorder). In addition, we blogged about publishing the results of coursework assignments in JEPS, and reported a very interesting interview about science policy and evidence-based policy in the EU.

We welcomed two new members on the JEPS team, Leonhard and Deniz! In addition, we welcomed 7 new Associate Editors on the JEPS Board. Lastly, a call for Copyeditors is currently open until February 5th! We invite you to share it with your native-speaker grammar-Nazi friends who would like to join our Board. We will also have a call for papers open soon – so if you  have something you would like to get published, start thinking about it, and stay tuned!

Junior Researcher Programme (JRP)

During the past two months the busy and motivated Junior Researchers kept working on their promising research projects while the JRP team welcomed new members and started working together in a bigger number. One of the first tasks of the team was to find a fearless Coordinator for the upcoming JRP Conference and we are all barely keeping from sharing the exciting news about it event with others. We are also planning the next JRP year and the European Summer School so stay tuned for updates!

Social Impact Initiative (SII)

SII had a busy two months with the Mind the Mind Campaign kick off! Besides helping our amazing Local Coordinators to start the Campaign in the best manner, we are also slowly preparing to turn over our tasks and achievements to the new team in April. We are very proud that our battle against stigma has been supported by our friends at ESU Seminar on Mental Health and through collaborations with AEGEE and IFMSA that we are currently working on!

Study and Travel Abroad (STA)

Holiday season is over and the STA Team has been getting over the post-holiday blues with loads of work! We are working hard on publishing two guidebooks by the end of the mandate – a general one with tips about studying abroad and the internship guidebook. We also know how much you love our internships abroad, so we are preparing a new one with Willingness Team Malta! The Exchanges team has been keeping in touch with new potential Org.Coms. To make their lives a bit easier, we have been collecting tips&tricks about the organisation from previous Org.Coms. Travel Network keeps on feeding your adventurous genes through new marketing campaigns. Training Office (TO)

TO has been working hard on making this year’s Train Advanced Trainers the best event yet! Apart from having it set in beautiful Şirince, İzmir, Turkey in March, we also selected the best candidates and Trainers’ team ever! We are all counting down the days to this amazing Event! We also had an exciting January where we welcomed 5 new trainers into our little family – the Trainers’ Pool. We also received a lot of applications from national and external trainers which made the selection even more exciting. Apart from that, Better Together and Mind the Mind trainings were delivered to the volunteers and we are now evaluating the impact and following-up the trainings. Last, but not least – we are here to support the Working Community in any way possible so reach out to us if you want physical or online trainings for your team!
