The twelfth Board of Management Postcard is here and we cannot believe the mandate has flown by so fast. We have just ended our mandate and passed on the reigns to the new Board of Management, you will find out more about that soon!

The current EFPSA Working Community, who passes on its mandate today, has been working hard to finish any remaining tasks and prepare for the Congress and mandate hand-over. Find out what they have been up to below.

Board of Management

The Board of Management has been very busy closing off the remaining tasks for the mandate, including preparations for the Congress, proposals for the General Assembly, finalising the Strategic Plan 2018-2022, preparing Knowledge Transfers and holding various meetings among many other tasks.

Finally, we are extremely happy to announce that after a long time of hard work and a lot of e-mails, the new EFPSA Website has been launched! We hope you enjoy the new design, updated content and that it is now much easier to explore!

Services & Offices

External Relations Office

The External Relations Office is very grateful for a highly successful mandate in terms of collaborations with student and professional organisations. EFPSA has strengthened its network especially in regards to interprofessional collaboration. We are excited to close off our collaborations for the present mandate with a workshop on interprofessional education and collaboration at the 32nd EFPSA Congress in Malta in collaboration with the European Medical Students’ Association (EMSA) and we look forward to continuing to advocate for this goal with our partners in the coming mandate!

Journal of European Psychology Students

This month JEPS is happy to announce they have published their first pre-registered research paper. Tatiana, the author has been kind enough to give us an interview about her experience which you can read about on the JEPS blog. We are excited to see more registered research to be submitted and published in the next mandate.

A paper on cancer patient support was published this month as well, and you can check it out here .

Junior Researcher Programme

While the current Junior Researchers are preparing their presentations for the upcoming Congress in Malta, the Call for Supervisors for the next European Summer School in The Netherlands has opened and you can apply here. The topic is “Psychology and Sexuality” and the JRP Team is looking forward to receiving applications from interested PhD students and PostDocs.

Training Office

Training Office experienced an amazing mandate full of amazing Events. Currently, it is preparing the Train the Trainers Summer School 2018 that will take place in lovely Czech Republic. Also, the EFPSA Academy is knocking on the door. Twenty amazing young volunteers are about to meet in Amsterdam to grasp the core of team work and group dynamics. Positive vibes are still coming from sunny Cyprus where TAT 2018 took place and we are looking forward to seeing you all next year! Last but not least, the Congress Trainers’ Team is crazy about delivering training to all of you during the seven days we are all going to spend in Malta. For those who are not part of the Working Community – no need to be sad! EFPSA Trainers prepared Open Training Sessions for you and we can not wait to see you there!

Study and Travel Abroad

The STA Team has been super busy wrapping up the mandate, with more upcoming Calls for Internships on the way, a bigger PhD database and ever expanding Masters Map, more hosts on the Travel Network Group and more exchanges on the way. The month of April was focused on collating all the work done across the year and preparing for passing on the knowledge to the next team.

Social Impact Initiative

The SII Team is proud to announce that it won the Croatian national competition for the Charlemagne Youth prize with Mind the Mind project!  The project will now be competing with other 27 EU national winners for one of the main three prizes, which are a great thing for the reputation of Mind the Mind in general and they also bring some funding.

It is important to stress that Mind the Mind as a whole is competing, Croatia was chosen just because the propositions required the choice one country, and it has a big MtM presence. Besides this, the SII team is also working on finishing the evaluations for second and the third wave of Mind the Mind campaign. You can also check out our MtM blog, we posted a new interview!

EFPSA Office

The EFPSA Office has been particularly busy during this past month. With the end of the mandate, a lot of documents are produced which means a lot of documents to be revised by the Content Review Responsible. The Web Support Coordinator has been giving full support to the Working Community on how to work with the new EFPSA website. A last meeting was held and the last birthday cards are being sent.

Finance Office

Finance Office has prepared the financial report for the mandate of 2017-2018. We received the feedback and additional questions from European Youth Foundation for the activities applied in the year 2017. We prepared and sent the documents as requested. The Partnerships Team managed to hold a meeting with our shipping partner Eurosender where they agreed on more support regarding giveaways which are beneficial for the promotion of EPFSA. They also finalised the agreement of IAAP sponsoring the EFPSA Congress 2018 for which we received a 2.500€ sponsorship.

Marketing Office

Marketing Office has been busy with finishing up designs for Certificates and Open Doors posters for the Congress 2018, as well as with posting Humans of EFPSA videos on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. Besides this, Marketing Office worked on the new Intro video which will be used at the beginning of every video produced by EFPSA.

Members Office & Member Representatives

The Members Office has been busy preparing the Knowledge Transfer for the next mandate, as well as finalising projects and documents and archiving all the important documents, so everything is ready for the next mandate. The Member Representatives have been busy finishing and giving Knowledge Transfer to their successors, also having the last Skype Meeting of the Mandate with the Vice Member Representatives and Member Representatives of 2018-2019 mandate. Member and Observer Coordinator has been busy helping Albania to prepare their presentation for the General Assembly of the Congress as they are applying for the first stage of membership. We wish them good luck!

Events Office & Events

Events Office has been closing its chapters for the mandate but at the same time working on turning onto new pages for the new Events Office to come! A lot of emails have been coming and going the past month, as these weeks were crucial to make the mandate change as smooth as possible for all Organising Committees currently working under the Office. Both the teams working on Joint EB&MR Meeting 2018 in Poland and European Summer School 2018 set to happen in the Netherlands are working hard towards securing a venue in the upcoming weeks, while EFPSA Academy is getting ready to host its lovely participants in May! Junior Researcher Programme Conference Org.Com is preparing material for their event in Athens and the Czech Org.Com of Train the Trainers 2018  is making massive progress since they drafted their Action Plan during the past month. We wish everybody the best of luck with their projects and to stay strong and motivated in this challenging road they chose!

Let us not neglect the fact that the 32nd EFPSA Congress in Malta has opened its doors to their participants from all around Europe and we are all eager to see what the Organising Committee has been working on for the past 2 years!

EFPSA in Numbers Task Force

The EFPSA in Numbers Task Force has been rushing to finalise all the analysis of the information gathered and preparing a poster with the main outcomes of the work developed. As it is expected that next mandate there will be a new position within the Executive Board to take on the work of this Task Force, Data Management Responsible. And the team has been preparing a strong Knowledge Transfer and report in order to facilitate this new role.

The Call for the Executive Board 2018-2019 is opened till 23rd April, 2018, and we encourage you to apply and be a part of the Working Community of the EFPSA for the next mandate.

The Call for Events Archive & Documentation Task Force members has been opened as well if you would like to help to organise information and documents about EFPSA Events, do not hesitate to apply.

If you are a PhD student or PostDoc researcher in psychology, take a look at the Call for Supervisors for the European Summer School that will be held in Netherlands this summer.

If you would like to help EFPSA manage one of the Grants it has been receiving, the Call for the European Youth Foundation (EYF) 2018 Projects Team is opened.

While we are writing this Postcard with a heavy heart,, we are beyond proud on all the work the EFPSA Working Community has achieved this mandate and are very excited for a new fresh Working Community to push the Federation even further.

For the very last time,

Clara, Nicola, Mónica, Luc, Tea, Erika & Andreas
