The European Summer School took place just a few weeks ago in Hungary. What always promised to be an incredibly successful event did not disappoint any of those who attended. With a greater emphasis than ever before on building the foundations for six research projects, the ESS became the scene of intense work, a wonderful atmosphere, and a great deal of fun. While the weather may not have always held out for us, spirits were always high and enthusiasm for work kept up until the very end of the week.
In the evenings, we enjoyed campfires, a memorable cultural evening, numerous games, and of course plenty of parties.
While the students were busy through the day on reviewing literature, constructing questionnaires, translating items, and discussing the directions for research that will take them into 2012 – the ESS team worked with the EFPSA presidential team on outlining future developments of the summer school. Indeed, as well as looking forward to future success of research groups, all those who attended this year’s summer school should be excited at the thought of the opportunities which the ESS will continue to deliver to them
As a team, we would like to thank all those who participated, particularly the students, the six research supervisors, and our lecturers. We also thank our sponsors, the Nederlands Instituut van Psychologen, and the IAAP Student Division.
