The European Federation of Psychology Students’ Associations (EFPSA) is an umbrella organisation of 33 National, Regional and/or Local Organisations whose activities have been aimed towards creating an opportunity for academic, personal, and professional growth for European psychology students. Besides bringing opportunities to academic, personal and professional growth in a vast pool of cultural diversity, the vision of EFPSA is to have a psychologically aware society, where the misconceptions that surround it are diminished, in order to enhance general well-being; to provide services and events that accommodate the vast expanse needs of psychology students which allow them to develop themselves professionally and reach interconnectedness across all of Europe. One of these services is the Social Impact Initiative, an initiative that aims to use psychological knowledge in order to make a positive and significant impact on society.

The Social Impact Initiative is led by the Senior Coordinator, who works on creating projects and campaigns together with their team, in order to make a positive and significant impact on European society. Since the projects are Europe-wide, we believe that our greatest strength lies in the cooperation between different countries, since this fosters collaboration from which we can best contribute psychologically, to our cultures and societies.

Currently, the Social Impact Initiative encompasses four projects running side by side:

  1. The first project is a campaign entitled ’’Mind the Mind – to Combat the Stigma of Mental Disorders’’, aimed at 3 different age groups: primary level students, secondary level students and adults. You can find more information about this campaign in the ’Mind the Mind’ section of our webpages.
  2. The second project is in line with EFPSA’s continual commitment to the “Open Access Movement”. Striving for fulfillment of this agenda and supporting the Open Access cause, is also a project of the Social Impact Initiative, and you can access more information about it in the ‘Open Access’ section of our webpages.
  3. The third project is a campaign entitled “Organised Acts of Kindness” which aims to bring people together while enhancing their well-being by encouraging individuals to do good towards others on a daily basis.
  4. The fourth project is a campaign entitled “Better Together” which is a part of the project focused on empowering youths to building more inclusive society.
