What is the ESS? Each summer EFPSA hosts the European Summer School: a seven-day event bringing unique academic and cultural experiences to 36  students each year.  The ESS is a chance for psychology students to step into the academic world: lectures from experts in the field, interactive workshops, debates, and inter-cultural research projects are at the core of the scientific programme. Complimenting the academic programme is an exciting and eye-opening social scene guaranteed to leave an impression on you long after you leave the summer school.

When? This year the European Summer School will take place between the 15-22nd of July.

Where?

Vila Nova de Foz Côa, the village in which the ESS will be hosted, can be found in the northeast of Portugal.

Who can apply?
The ESS is orientated around student participants, but we also recruit PhD students to supervise research groups. To apply as a student, you must have be enrolled in (or graduated from) a psychology degree in Europe (at either a Bachelor, Masters or equivalent level).

Why apply?
The ESS represents an incredible opportunity that you are unlikely to match anywhere else. You’ll meet and work alongside people from all over Europe, opening your eyes to many new cultures and perspectives. The academic programme will broaden your skills as a psychology student, and your work within your research project will put you ahead of the curve in your academic career, not to mention bring you countless further opportunities and experiences.

What does the ESS cost? The student participation fee of ESS 2012 is €200. We will of course support any student attempts to gain financial support from their university department by providing appropriate certification / endorsements.
