How much is the participation fees for ESS?
120 Euros. 

What does this fee cover?
It covers your accomodation, food and materials for the summer school. Your travels costs are not included but some travel reimbursement is possible.

When can I apply as a participant?
The recruitment for students will start around April and finish on 21st May, don't miss the chance and apply now!

How do I apply?

Who can apply?
Students who are studying a bachelor or masters degree or equivalent, and are citizens of countries within the Council of Europe or have a valid study or work visa from countries within the Council of Europe. 

How many students will be selected?
We will choose the best 35 students from the applications we receive from across Europe.

Where do I stay? 
All accomodation is provided for you by local hosting coordinators. Your will be staying in the University Conference Centre from South-West University, Bulgaria. Plenty of information is provided for you about this centre under the ESS Venue menu on the website. 

How do I get to the venue? 
We will arrange for a bus to pick up students from a more convenient location. Stay posted for precisely where this will be, but it is most likely to be in close to the most popular airport that participants will be using. 

Where do we study?
The facilities this year are great: The University Centre "Bachinovo" contains: A large conference hall, eight smaller fully equipped meeting rooms, free internet, materials should also be supplied.

What do I need to bring? 
Don't worry about that yet! If you are selected as a participant, then we will be very much in touch with you to ensure you know what to bring, when to arrive and many more details. 

When will we find out the result?
We will email the successful applicants in the beginning of June.

How do I pay the fee?
Once you are selected, we will send you the bank details to transfer the fee.

How long does the research take?
You will first meet your supervisor and fellow research colleagues during the week in Bulgaria to start off the research, then you are obliged to be actively involve in the research in the next 12 months or so. All projects must finish and aim to publish them in international journals.

How can I keep in touch and be posted the activities of other research teams and previous ESS?
