Introducing the 2nd EFPSA Conference
One of the newest, and at the same time largest academically oriented, EFPSA events is the Conference. The EFPSA Confference is a biannual student model of professional conferences maintaining a high quality scientific programme, yet more affordable for students.
At this four-day event, students from across Europe gather to attend lectures delivered by professionals and peers, and actively contribute with their own research to a diverse scientific programme set around a theme chosen by the hosts. Although it may seem conceptually similar, the EFPSA Conference is distinguished from the EFPSA Congress by its focus on the scientific programme. It aims to deliver to the students an opportunity to attend to a scientific programme that reflects the state-of-the-art of a specific psychology theme. In doing so, it aims to minimise the costs for participants, in order to deliver an equal opportunity to all students, as well as channel the efforts of the organising committee on the scientific programme, therefore the event does not include accommodation and subsistence (i.e. meals), and a social programme is completely optional, and outside of the daily scientific programme.
Following the great success of the first EFPSA Conference in 2013, we will continue this tradition with a new Conference in 2015. This time the theme will be “The Human Nature – Two Sides of One Mind” and will be hosted by SAŠAP, the Slovak Association of Psychology Students and graduates, from 14th to 17th of November in Ružomberok, Slovakia. We are excited to find out more about the fringe topics of psychology, including forensic psychology, sexology, psychotherapy and clinical psychology. If you are passionate about the depths of the human mind and it’s dark sides then do not miss out the chance to join 150 psychology students from all around Europe that share your passion!
