Tenth Postcard from the Board of Management 2017-2018

While the EFPSA Working Community is enthusiastic about the upcoming Congress in Malta this coming April, the Office and Teams are hard at work to maximise their time and finalise their projects before passing on their work to their successors.

Board of Management
The second and final Board of Management Meeting has come to a close today, marking the end of a very productive month for the Board of Management (BM) who have been working hard on finalising various projects and working towards end of mandate tasks. The week in Maribor, Slovenia provided the BM with the opportunity to analyse the mandate and great motivation to continue working in these upcoming demanding months.

With that being said, the Call for next Board of Management that will continue to ensure the sustainable development of the Federation throughout the mandate 2018-2019 has been extended! If you are interested in working in an diverse European NGO, combining psychology with a variety of skills check out the Call and get in touch with the current BM for further information.

Services & Offices

Junior Researcher Programme
The Junior Researchers within the Junior Researcher Programme (JRP) have started to apply for Active Participation at the upcoming EFPSA Congress in Malta and are looking forward to presenting their work. Meanwhile, the decision-making process for the topic for the next European Summer School (ESS) that will be held in the Netherlands is in full swing and the Scientific Programme of the JRP Conference in Greece is being finalised.

Journal of European Psychology Students
Since our last update the Journal of European Psychology Students (JEPS) published another paper by our Danish colleagues on workplace bullying and Post-Traumatic Stress Symptoms and its relation to education levels. Eva Štrukelj, JEPS Team Member, wrote an excellent blog post covering all the important aspects to keep in mind when writing a systematic literature review. We hope this post will help any students feeling a bit lost in this endeavor or looking to learn useful tips for their work. As always, JEPS is accepting submissions from any current or recently graduated student of psychology.

External Relations Office
The European Health Students’ Associations Summit (EHSAS) took place in Brussels, Belgium between the 23rd – 25th February where our External Relations Coordinator, Valerija Vidovic represented EFPSA. The meeting brought together students from medicine (EMSA), pharmacy (EPSA), dentistry (EDSA) and nursing (ENSA) to work on common projects of interest and promote interprofessional collaboration.

EFPSA Office
The EFPSA Office organised an internal giveaway for the Working Community and one of our Executive Board members has won a high quality set of books! Final adjustments are being done on the new website following the feedback of the entire Working Community and its launch is coming closer and closer. Meanwhile, the Office is preparing two more giveaways!

Finance Office
February was a crucial month for Finance Office, as we were writing the final reports for both grants (European Youth Foundation & Education, Culture and Audiovisual Executive Agency) we were successfully awarded in the last year. The Partnerships Team has successfully established two Memorandum of Understandings with Routledge and Housing Anywhere.

Marketing Office
Marketing Office has been preparing Humans of EFPSA videos for the purpose of promoting the EFPSA Working Community and the upcoming Call for the Executive Board 2018-2019. Besides this, in the past month, they promoted the Board of Management positions and provided the Working Community with different designs, materials and photos.

Events Office
Events Office in collaboration with Training Office has been making the final arrangements to ensure that the Train Advance Trainers (TAT) taking place in Larnaca, Cyprus next month will be a major success! Moreover, all the teams have been stepping on the gas to complete the required tasks before the 32nd EFPSA Congress in Malta which at this point has been focusing on the completion of their rich scientific programme.

Similarly, the Org.Com of EFPSA Academy 2018 announced that they are opening their doors to participants on 11th until 13th May in the Netherlands, while the Org.Coms of the JRP Conference in Greece, ESS in the Netherlands and Joint EB&MR Meeting in Poland have been trying hard to get valuable sponsors for the Events.

Let us not neglect to say that everybody should stayed tuned on our website for some very interesting upcoming Calls in the near future.

With best regards from snowy Slovenia,

Clara, Nicola, Mónica, Luc, Tea, Erika & Andreas
